CALL SHOT: games in which the player is required to name, before each shot a certain ball to be pocketed and/or a certain pocket
CALLED BALL: the ball named in a call shot pool game
CALLED POCKET: the pocket named in a call shot pool game
CAROM: the act of bouncing off the cue ball an object ball or a cushion
CHALK: the powder put on the cue tip
COMBINATION: when the cue ball strikes one ball, which strikes another ball in an attempt to pocket
CONTACT POINT: the accurate meeting point between the cue ball and an object ball on a stroke
CORNER HOOKED: same as ANGLED
COUNT: a score; also used to describe a successful shot
CROSS CORNER: a bank shot that rebounds from a cushion to one of the cormer pockets
CROSS SIDE: a bank shot that rebounds from a cushion to one of the side pockets
CUE: the wooden stick used to strike the cue ball
CUE BALL: the white and unnumbered ball stroke by the cue tip
CUE BALL IN HAND: when the cue ball can be placed anywhere on the playing surface of the table
CUE BALL IN HAND BEHIND THE HEAD STRING: when the cue ball can be placed only between the head string and the cushion on the head of the table
CUE TIP: the piece of material connected to the shaft of the cue
CUSHION: the rubber covered with cloth in the inside borders of the rails
CUT SHOT: when the cue ball drives an object ball to a differnet direction than its original one
