BALANCE POINT: the point on the cue that would be balanced when held with one hand; about 18 inches from the butt of cue

BANK SHOT: when the cue ball drives an object ball to a cushion before it drops into a pocket; see also KICK SHOT

BED OF TABLE: the surface of the billiard table within the cushions

BOTTLE: a leather or a plastic container often used in billiard games; sometimes called SHAKE BOTTLE

BREAKING VIOLATION: violation of the opening break shot rules

BRIDGE: the hand device used to hold and assist the shaft of the cue

BUTT OF CUE: the bigger end of the cue on the other side of the cue tip
